Colonel Philip J. Corso
US Army Colonel (Ret.), NSC Staff under Eisenhower, Head of Foreign Technology Desk (Pentagon, 1961–1963), Roswell Whistleblower
Colonel Philip James Corso (May 7, 1915, California, Pennsylvania — July 16, 1998) was a highly decorated US Army officer who served on President Eisenhower's National Security Council and headed the Foreign Technology Desk at the Pentagon from 1961 to 1963. He was conscripted into the US Army in 1942 and received an officer's commission. Corso served in World War II in Italy (1944–1945), in the Korean War under General MacArthur, and later as an NSC staff member under Eisenhower. In his 1997 book *'The Day After Roswell'* (with William Birnes, Pocket Books — 3 weeks NYT bestseller list), he claimed to have personally seen Roswell wreckage and a biological entity (EBE), and that as head of the Foreign Technology Desk he had passed extraterrestrial technologies to private companies — leading to breakthroughs in fiber optics, integrated circuits, night vision devices, Kevlar, and lasers. He is particularly known for his claim about an encounter with an extraterrestrial being at White Sands (1956/1957), during which the being conveyed the message: *'A new world, if you can take it.'* Corso died on July 16, 1998 shortly after a heart attack — a few months after the publication of his book. His claims were largely dismissed as a hoax in 1997, but are increasingly plausible through later whistleblowers (David Grusch 2023, Bob Lazar 1989) and Pentagon programs (AAWSAP 2008–2012).
