Donald E. Keyhoe

Major Donald Edward Keyhoe (USMC, ret.) was the first prominent public whistleblower in UFO history. Author of 'Flying Saucers Are Real' (1950) and 'Flying Saucers from Outer Space' (1953). On July 29, 1952, he confronted Major General John Samford live at the largest Pentagon press conference since WW2 with the thesis of interplanetary origin. Founding Director of NICAP (National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena, 1956–1969). Classified as a threat by the Robertson Panel in 1953 and placed under surveillance. Precursor to all subsequent whistleblowers (Grusch, Elizondo, Fravor). His core thesis — the government knows more than it says — was confirmed under oath by Grusch in 2023.
