Gordon Cooper

Leroy Gordon Cooper Jr. (1927–2004) was a Mercury and Gemini astronaut, USAF test pilot, and aerospace engineer. In 1951 he observed combat formations of unknown objects over Europe, in 1957 he observed glowing flying discs in Germany, and in 1957/58 at Edwards AFB he witnessed the landing of a disc-shaped object — filmed by a camera crew whose footage was immediately confiscated. In 1985 he spoke before the UN about the reality of extraterrestrial visitors.
