Dr. Andrija Puharich (birth name: Henry Karel Puharić) was a physician, parapsychologist, and inventor with more than 50 patents. From 1953–1955 he served as a Captain in the Army Medical Corps at Edgewood Arsenal, Maryland, where he had close contact with the CIA, the Pentagon, and Naval Intelligence. He is known as the man who brought Uri Geller to the United States and confirmed him as a genuine psychic. As early as 1952, the Hindu mystic Dhundiraj G. Vinod, during a trance session at Puharich's home, made contact with a group of entities calling themselves 'The Nine' — nine cosmic beings who allegedly guide humanity. Puharich built 'Lab Nine' around this concept on his estate in Ossining, NY. In 1978 the laboratory burned down under mysterious circumstances, and Puharich fled to Mexico claiming the CIA was pursuing him. He asserted that Geller was an ambassador of the spacecraft 'Spectra,' located 53,000 light-years away. Geller later distanced himself from these claims. Puharich also conducted research into Tesla's ELF waves as a means of consciousness control and claimed that the Soviets were deploying Tesla-based weapons.
