=== THE COUNCIL OF NINE / THE NINE (1952–1978) ===
1952 (Glen Cove, Maine): First contact session with a group identifying itself as 'The Nine'. Medium: Dr. D.G. Vinod (Indian philosopher). The Nine describe themselves as: 9 cosmic entities, guardians of humanity, operating from a spacecraft called 'Spectra'. Purpose: to prepare humanity for a new era. 1971–1974 (Uri Geller): Puharich discovers Geller in Israel, brings him to the USA. Joint channeling sessions with The Nine. Puharich's book 'Uri' (1974): documents Geller tests + The Nine communications. CIA document (declassified): confirmed Puharich's work with Geller. 1974–1978 (Lab Nine, Long Island): Puharich founds 'Lab Nine' — a group of researchers, artists, and intellectuals holding regular channeling sessions with The Nine. Members: Gene Roddenberry (Star Trek), Ira Einhorn (activist), Whitley Strieber (Communion), Sir John Whitmore (racing driver/researcher), Phyllis Schlemmer (medium). Roddenberry writes a Star Trek screenplay based on the Nine communications (never produced, but influence on Deep Space Nine documented). 1978: Lab Nine house burns down — Puharich flees to Mexico. Files and records destroyed.
=== CIA CONNECTIONS & MK-ULTRA ENVIRONMENT ===
Puharich worked in the 1950s and 1960s for the US Army Chemical Center (Fort Detrick, Maryland) — center for biological and chemical warfare, also home to MK-Ultra experiments. Research topics: telepathy, hypnosis, psychedelic substances (muscarine mushrooms), consciousness expansion as an intelligence tool. CIA connection: Puharich received funding for parapsychology research under the CIA program SCANATE (later Stargate). Russell Targ and Harold Puthoff (SRI) worked with Puharich before they tested Uri Geller. Puharich introduced Geller to SRI — enabling the CIA Stargate tests in 1972/73.
=== MUSHROOMS & CONSCIOUSNESS EXPANSION ===
Puharich was one of the first Western researchers to systematically study psilocybin mushrooms (book 'The Sacred Mushroom', 1959). Thesis: mushrooms enable contact with extraterrestrial intelligences. Connection to Aldous Huxley (Doors of Perception) and Timothy Leary.
=== CONNECTION TO GENE RODDENBERRY ===
Roddenberry was a regular participant in the Lab Nine sessions (1974–1978). The Nine communicated through Phyllis Schlemmer (medium) regarding Roddenberry. Roddenberry visited Uri Geller personally in New York — spoke about aliens, UFOs, and the Nine communications. Geller (9 June 2026): 'Gene Roddenberry visited me personally. The name Deep Space Nine is a direct reference to The Nine.' Roddenberry wrote an unpublished Star Trek screenplay based on Nine communications.
=== CONNECTION TO HAIM ESHED & GALACTIC FEDERATION (2026) ===
Uri Geller explicitly connects Eshed's 'Galactic Federation' to Puharich's 'Council of Nine' on 9 June 2026: 'I strongly suspect that what Haim calls the Galactic Federation is directly connected to the SAME intelligence that I, Andrija Puharich & Gene Roddenberry all received communications from!' Puharich is thus the key figure connecting: CIA (institutional), Geller (psychic), Roddenberry (cultural), Eshed (military).
=== DEATH AND CONTROVERSY ===
3 January 1995: Puharich dies after falling down the stairs in his home. Official ruling: accident. Many researchers: suspicious (shortly before a planned publication of new findings). His entire archive and research records disappeared after his death. Ira Einhorn (Lab Nine member): was arrested in 1977 for the murder of his girlfriend — fled to Europe, was extradited in 2001 and convicted. Connection to Lab Nine was used by media as an attempt to discredit.
